چکیده

We present a method for nonrigid motion analysis in time sequences of volume images (4D data). In this method, nonrigid motion of the deforming object contour is dynamically approximated by a physically-based deformable surface. In order to reduce the number of parameters describing the deformation, we make use of a modal analysis which provides a spatial smoothing of the surface. The deformation spectrum, which outlines the main excited modes, can be efficiently used for deformation comparison. Fourier analysis on time signals of the main deformation spectrum components provides a ternporal smoothing of the data. Thus a complex nonrigid deformation is described by only a few parameters: the main excited modes and the main Fourier harmonics. Therefore, 4D data can be analyzed in a very concise manner. The power and robustness of the approach is illustrated by various results on medical data. We believe that our method has important applications in automatic diagnosis of heart diseases and in motion compression.

Structure and Nonrigid Motion Analysis from 2d Images

Structure and nonrigid motion analysis is a very important problem in computer vision. Most of the work in nonrigid motion analysis thus far has aimed at correspondence estimation from the complete structure of the scene (stereo or range), \optic ow" analysis of image sequences, or 2D image registrations. Limited study has been conducted to track both structure and nonrigid motion at the same t...

Nonrigid Image Registration with Subdivision Lattices: Application to Cardiac MR Image Analysis

In this paper we present a new methodology for cardiac motion tracking in tagged MRI using nonrigid image registration based on subdivision surfaces and subdivision lattices. We use two sets of registrations to do the motion tracking. First, a set of surface registrations is used to create and initially align the subdivision model of the left ventricle with short-axis and long-axis MR images. S...

Vibration Modes for Nonrigid Motion Analysis in 3D Images

We concentrate on nonrigid motion analysis in 3D images using modal dynamics. Borrowing the solid state physics formulation, we develop the equations of motion and the analytical expression of vibration modes of a multidimensional elastically-deformable model. Thus, nonrigid motion of a 3D deformable object can be recovered in closed-form in real time. The power of the approach is demonstrated ...

Thus, nonrigid motio...

Nonrigid Motion Analysis Based on Dynamic Refinement of Finite Element Models

ÐIn this paper, we propose new algorithms for accurate nonrigid motion tracking. Given an initial model representing general knowledge of the object, a set of sparse correspondences, and incomplete or missing information about geometry or material properties, we can recover dense motion vectors using finite element models. The method is based on the iterative analysis of the differences between...
